Your home is a living breathing entity of yourself. As children, we are programmed by our ancestors and society collectively, casting us into certain roles or positions. This programming walks or directs us through adulthood and to death if we do not recognize and alter it. Due to the law of attraction, we will attract what we think we are. Family, friends, career, climate, and home will be an influence and extension of who we are and we will become an extension of them. They form each of us and hold an aspect of our self-expression.

Our home becomes one of the biggest triggers that holds and maintains this programming. The home holds feelings, energy, and emotions of past, present, and future programming. The home and how we design it can have a powerful impact on our growth. Everything in our physical world holds sparks of memories that activate either positive or negative thought patterns. Everything we accumulate is usually placed or stored in the home. When you look at the chart below, think deeply about items in your home that may hold—energetically— the key to your well-being or lack of it. Our home starts as a blank canvas; you draw its pictures.

Your home tells a story of its creator—you. As you look around your home, does it tell the story that you wish to hear or have others see? If not, it is time to reinvent the canvas of your home. A clear, free environment or blank canvas is needed to start painting how you wish your future to be: free of all triggers of the past. The home exhibits the mind, body, and spirit of your mind. Homes hold conscious and subconscious meanings. Your job is to find these subconscious meanings and why you put them there. Find the things within your home with good thought patterns that make you feel strong, healthy, and well. On the flip side, find the things in your home that triggers baggage from your past.

As you start redesigning your home based upon your interests, wants, and desires, you create a new profile of your being. However, when you will also start the healing process of your past.  The goal is to find a peaceful, contented life. In order to do that, we need to readjust or eliminate that which is causing the chaos. Our home can have a powerful impact on our growth.  Accent those items, which bring your happiness and get rid of those items, which bring you sadness or distress. 1. Reblogged this on Rochelle Foulk and commented:
Ivanyla Vanzant wrote a book called In the Meantime, by itself the book is about relationships and what to do in between the last one and the next one. For me I was lost in the discovery of who I was before I could even consider the “next” one, the idea that my home was the first place to “clear out” was a new concept. Today people are finding a place of healing by going somewhere, paying for masages or attending church. Don’t worry those places are fabulous for such a retreat but what about your home? Can you walk in and sigh with relief because the sanctuary heals, protects and comforts you? It is my goal that I am comfortable in my home and by extension everyone who comes over. Creating a loving and healing home is an amazing space to rejuvenate AND it cost no money!!! Check out this fantastic blog about the feng shui of interior design with famous author Mary Shurtleff. You will be amazed!
    Love and light ~

  2. I am grateful, after reading “in the Meantime” I went through a spiritual cleansing in my home. The idea that parts of my past, fears and unwanted memories were hiding in old boxes, drawers and under the bed created a new meaning to the phrase, “Spring Cleaning”. ~R
